Hey Mod Men, Here's the 411 . . . the 7-100 a battery powered, portable, practice amp (key words being portable and practice)it's great at doing what it was designed to do and operating within those parameters. If you want to crank it up and still play clean, buy a real freakin' amp! That's gotta be cheaper than modding the 7-100. The lil' Pig is WAAAY COOL but it's basically a toy. (Had a friend who souped up a Hyundai once, to what purpose I don't know, it was still only a Hyundai). Now for something minimally constructive, a basic reason the 7-100 distorts is because the speaker is being overdriven. I'd think a speaker with higher rating would negate the tendency to distort to some degree, maybe enough to satisfy your needs.
